Who can apply for a Quality Grant? 

·   You must be currently providing legal child care.  The program is open to licensed center-based programs, licensed family child care homes and license-exempt centers and homes.

·   Your program must be listed on the CCR&R Referral provider database.

·   You must live in one of the following counties: Ford, Livingston, McLean or DeWitt.

 

What can I apply for? 

 You may apply for the following types of equipment/supplies:

·   Facility Improvement (examples: fence, child-sized sink and toilet, staircase railing)

·   Equipment/Materials for Children (examples: crib, child-sized table and chairs, playground equipment, blocks, aquarium materials)

·   Professional Resources (examples: business computers, professional development resources, curriculum)

·   Parent Resources (examples: lending library materials, parent videos and books)

 

How much money can I apply for? 

Category 1 Funding (All programs are eligible to apply for)

Type of Child Care:

·   License-Exempt Family Child Care Homes – Up to $750.00

·   Licensed Family Child Care Home – Up to $1,000.00

·   Licensed Group Family Child Care Home – Up to $1,300.00

·   Child Care Centers:

§  Capacity 50 or less – Up to $2,700.00

§  Capacity 51-100 – Up to $5,400.00

§  Capacity 101 and up – Up to $8,000.00

 

Category 2 Funding (Providers who are accredited OR is currently enrolled in accreditation self-study, OR has completed a program self-assessment)

Type of Child Care:

·   License-Exempt Family Child Care Homes – Up to $1,500.00

·   Licensed Family Child Care Home – Up to $2,000.00

·   Licensed Group Family Child Care Home – Up to $2,600.00

·   Child Care Centers:

§  Capacity 50 or less – Up to $5,400.00

§  Capacity 51-100 – Up to $10,800.00

§  Capacity 101 and up – Up to $16,000.00

 

How do I apply? 

All applicants writing for the 1st time must attend a Bidder’s Conference to learn about state and local priorities as well as the grant writing process

 

Bidder’s Conference Dates:

·   January 14, 2010 from 6:30pm-8:30pm in Fairbury

·   January 25, 2010 from 6:30pm-8:30pm in Bloomington

 

All who attend the Bidder’s Conference will receive 10 bonus points toward their grant proposal.  If a program has multiple sites, a representative from EACH SITE must be in attendance to receive the points.

 

Proposals are due no later than 4:00pm on March 19, 2010.  Proposals may be mailed or dropped off to:
